Random featured Wikipedia article


Get a random interesting Wikipedia article every morning when you open your web browser.

This method is different from setting your homepage to Wikipedia’s own Special:Random page, which might give you rather mundane articles like an obscure bridge somewhere.

This method will give you a random featured article.

Step 1

Set the following URL as your homepage on your preferred browser:

https://toolserver.org/~dapete/random/enwiki-featured.php

In Firefox:

Press Alt and T and click on Options. On the General tab paste the above address into where it says Home Page. Change the ‘When Firefox starts’ option to ‘Show my home page’

In Chrome

Click the wrench icon and then on Settings. For the ‘On start-up’ setting choose ‘Open the homepage’. For the Homepage setting choose ‘‘ and paste the above address.

In Internet Explorer

Click the gear icon and then on Internet options. In the Home page block paste the above address.

Step 2

When you open your browser, it will open a random featured Wikipedia article.
